Shaun did a first class job on a Triumph Stag of mine many years ago so when it came to some minor bumper paintwork and refitting the GT3 “smile” grill correctly on my recently purchased Porsche 911 he was the first person to come to mind.
As it turned out the work was a bit more involved than we first envisaged due to a poor front end respray by a previous owner. We agreed a modified price for a front end respray which I thought was very reasonable considering the work involved, as is often the case, further unknown repairs.
The end result was a perfectly colour matched front end. He kept me personally updated with the progress of the work and any additional costs which were very reasonable.
In comparison to some of the vehicles that Shaun restores and maintains my car is at the lower end of the exotic range but it was still given the same attention to detail and high standard as he would give to say a Ferrari Testarossa. I highly recommend Hayward Classics for bodywork and mechanical repairs on any car in particular high end cars. Thank you Shaun.Andy Mount
I would just like to say thank you so much for the work you have carried out on the TR7. It was looking a bit 'tired' when you collected it. This is the first car i have restored, after owning it for nearly 30 years. The biggest and most expensive part of a restoration is the body work and paint, this is the first thing people see, so you want it to look good, and YES mine does now. I think the first thing i said when i saw it was WOW !! From the initial visit by Shaun to see the car and after talking to him, you know the car is going to be in goods hands. Shaun listens to you and understands what you are looking to achieve, and if your not sure which way go on the car, he can advise and point you in the right direction. during the build and paintwork, it was never any trouble if i wanted to go and see how things were progressing, and it was also good for me to see how Shaunn and his team do things. Once it was finished the paint job looked amazing, he delivered it back. While im working on the car to finish the build, the amount of people that have stopped and talked to me about it the one thing they all mention is the body and paint work. I would have no hesitation if someone asked me about who to go to I would always point them in Shauns direction. Again thank you to Shaun and his team at Haywood Classics.

Having finally bought my dream Porsche, a 993 turbo there were a few little jobs that I wanted doing, after some phone calls Shaun’s name kept being mentioned, after a phone call we arranged a meeting and within a short while it was evident Shaun was the man for the job!!! Once the car was started it was clear there were more and more jobs that needed attention- this ended up turning in to a full restoration and recommission including engine gearbox and suspension overhaul and detailing , the work and craftsmanship speaks for itself and can only be described as SIMPLY STUNNING. Thank you Shaun for such a wonderful job on my car

I have known Shaun for many years, since being introduced by Ferrari personally, whom use Shaun Hayward for any repaint work and restoration. (Plus other prestigious Marques).
I myself have been involved within the Motorsport industry virtually all of my life and also being a PhD, in the design and development so, attention to detail is paramount even to my own clients and, I need this from my own resources too. Being in this kind of industry and the term of my involvement, I personally know all the ‘key personnel’ within several Marques such as Mercedes / Daimler / BMW / Porsche / Ferrari / Lamborghini / Aston Martin / Jaguar, to name but a few and they obviously know of me.
I have noticed many vehicles within Shaun’s workshop collection (recently a Porsche was fully restored). WHAT A JOB – hats off to Haywards Classics for a remarkable job, fantastic restoration and finishing!
Shaun firstly corrected the paintwork on my own VW VR6 I owned a few years ago, with REMARKABLE finishing and just recently, I purchased a beautiful Mercedes E 350 Convertible in a beautiful dark blue pearlescent which required ‘beautification’ on the paintwork. I couldn’t think of anyone to carry out such a BEAUTIFUL, EXCELLENT, REMARKABLE PAINT WORK finishing. Shaun’s work and finishing brought a tear to my eyes. Whilst I was inspecting the ‘finished’ result, ‘Exquisite’ is the only overall word I can use.Dr Vic E
Hi Shaun, Just wanted to say that after so much effort and trouble that you had to go through with the paint manufacturers to establish what turned out to be a unique colour that the Morgan looks magnificent, and way beyond my expectations! Your conscientious and dedicated approach to achieving the right result is a credit to you and your business. So thanks again

Having decided to have my 1968 Daimler 250v8 resprayed with the remit that any rust was to be cut out and new metal inserted, I set about reviewing suitable restorers in North Kent. A number of them said all the 'wrong' things and set up a level of concern, except Haywards Classics. I visited their workshop where some truly stunning work was being undertaken, I decided this was the right company for me. Shaun was happy to come and view my car and give an honest appraisal on what he felt about its' current condition and what was likely to be found. A very sensible price was agreed with the proviso that as and when anything unforeseen came to light I would immediately be informed. Throughout the works Shaun kept me informed constantly and invited me down to the work as it progressed, it's amazing to witness this even when a couple of bits were more extensive than envisaged. Some of the new panel work and welding were exemplary, and fascinating as the car took shape. The end result is stunning, fabulous paint finish and astonishing panel work. Throughout communication was excellent. Given the above I would highly recommend Haywards Classics for their superb workmanship. Thanks very much Shaun.

At a Canterbury Classic Car Show I was delighted to have my Morgan voted “Car of the Show”. This made me an extremely proud owner and to realise the outstanding restoration you had completed on my car. I had always aspired to own a Morgan but the one I purchased definitely needed a special touch to raise it to top class condition. Ever appreciative of your skilful work.

Shaun, I took the car to the first show of the year and this is reaction the car got Quote - who the hell painted that? That's the best finish and straightest black car I have ever seen"

I have been using Shaun for almost 10 year and in that time he has carried out everything from a bare metal restoration of a vintage Ferrari to multiple front end resprays for various Porsche’s, Ferraris and some daily drivers. His service and attention to detail are second to none. I would not take my business anywhere else, and would not hesitate to recommend his work.

I have been going to Shaun for many years, after being introduced to him as a high quality repairer/restorer of classic and supercars. Being a perfectionist, so I'm told, I took him a Ferrari that I had at the time, that needed work. Since then, he has worked on several cars for me over the years, most recently my Ferrari 599. Needless to say, his work is excellent and I will not go anywhere else (unless he retires!). A very important aspect of his work is the excellent advice he gives about how to go about a repair or restoration, based upon his very extensive knowledge of cars and how they are put together. Some of the fabrications of obscure body parts that he produces have to be seen to be appreciated - works of art! I would not hesitate to recommend Hayward Classics. If you care about your car, take it from me - take it to Shaun

Thank you very much you’ve done an excellent job on the car, in fact it exceeded all my expectations! I thought it best to get it out this weekend otherwise the temptation would be to wrap it in cotton wool and leave it in the garage! Got lot’s of events to take it to this summer including a trip to the Porsche museum in July. Happy to provide a testimonial at any time. Next job will be the 356 but probably not for a couple of years.

My pride and joy Porsche 944 Turbo was damaged all along one side, with a deep score almost its entire length. Shaun quoted, slightly lower than others, and virtually took the car to pieces in order to do a proper job. It looked very sad on a dolly with the glass out, handles, boot and bonnet off, all masked up. But when I came to collect it, wow - better than a new car. Paint was flat, free of orange peel, deep and glossy, with many coats of lacquer. Shauns advice on how far to go, his teams skills in beating out every dent without new panels or filler was remarkable. I have since sent another car there for various work and a few friends too. I have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending Hayward Classics for bodywork repairs on any car.

I have been a customer for over 20 years requiring paintwork repairs from small local to complete vehicle. I have always received top quality service from what consider to be a top quality paint and body shop.

In the last few years Shaun has done a bare metal repaint on two of my cars. One was a 1975 Aston Martin V8 and the second was a Ferrari 308GTS. Both cars came out of Shaun's paint shop looking absolutely fantastic. Not only do the cars look amazing but I know that the paint will not react or blister like some cars that have been painted by other paint shops. Shaun uses the best materials, paints and goes the extra mile on the preparation. Shaun painted my car over two years ago and it still looks as if it had just come out of his paint shop. I even had a Car restorer come up to me at a car show as I was getting into my 308GTS and asked who had done the work, as he thought it was to the best standard he had seen! I have recommended Shaun to many of my friends who have had work done by him and they are as equally as pleased with his work as I am!

Shaun restored the bodywork on my Ferrari 365 GT 2+2 a few years ago, and it still looks fabulous. In fact it was 2012! I felt compelled to say something as my car has recently featured in Auto Italia magazine, issue 290 April 2020. It was very well received and some great pictures taken. The icing on the cake however was at the FOC Concours event in 2019 where it won a 'Most Cherished ' award.
I have no hesitation in recommending Shaun and Hayward Classics for their knowledge, dedication and expertise in Car restoration, and they are really nice people to deal with.Jeff C
Shaun has been my go to person for panel work and paint work for almost fifteen years, from several bare metal restorations to localised spot repair work even a motorcycle for fun. Working with rare and older cars inevitably creates challenges simply knowing what it's meant to look like is tricky enough, not to mention obscure paint matching or fabricating parts where section of body or frame have become unusable Shaun takes his time and guides you through the choices. If you are looking for quick and cheap repair go elsewhere, if you want it back like new this is the place !!

My brother and I have been customers of Hayward Classics for twenty years. We have had either minor repair work or complete restorations, all this work was completed to an extremely high class standard. Preparation work is thorough which results in paintwork that stands the test of time, a tidy finish and attention to detail has ensured that all our cars are better than original (from the factory). i.e. Lamborghini Countach that still looks great ten years later. Highly recommend if you are serious about maintaining your Classic the right way
